I am sure the reason you are here is that you are new to this process of growing plants. So I will be addressing some of the questions I have heard the most during my years working as a nurseryman.
The effort to set up and get started with an indoor growing system is really not that difficult. This process of gardening was discovered over a century ago. Some of the advantages that researchers came across benefit the grower in many ways. It is economical, it requires less maintenance and the end result is a higher, productive plant.
The reasons why so many choose this method for growing plants is endless. We could sit here all day discussing the advantages of it. So I am going to share several of them with you so you will have a better idea. The following reasons seem to stand out most with people who have looked into an indoor growing system as an alternative.
If you are going to use this approach to growing plants it will not require any sunlight. You will have to purchase some led lights when you are getting some materials required to set up. These can be found at a local store near you. If not, you can find them online at prices which might be a bit cheaper. So even if it is a cloudy day outside, your plants will still be thriving and growing.
One of the top benefits people see in choosing an indoor growing system is because of the money they save. It is economical in so many ways. Using this approach to planting does not require any potting soil or big clay pots if you do not have a back yard to start with. Another economical benefit is that you will not be using gallons of water that dry up in a few days or sink down deep into the surface of the earth. An indoor growing system uses the same water continuously. Which brings up another benefit to this process.
Over the years as a nurseryman I keep finding one thing that people tend to overlook. Feeding the plants on a regular basis giving them the minerals they need. An indoor growing system takes care of this problem as well. Because the water that is used over and over in this method will have food in it already. If you have followed the instructions in the process of setting up your garden.
The advantage of an indoor growing system is adding a plant food to the water that has micro nutrients in it. Which is absorbed by the roots as it is continually pumped through the system. So the roots never have a chance to dry up and are always taking in the nutrients they need to grow strong and healthy.
With an indoor growing system you are less likely to have a problem with pests. Whether it is a pet in the neighborhood digging in your garden or all the insects that can eat your foliage. Which will require a lot of time and maintenance on your part to keep all the bad foliage trimmed off.
An indoor growing system is one approach that has many benefits which growing plants in soil outdoors do not stand a chance.
